The Hierophant's Curriculum Vitae

Born October 1957 in Whittier, CA. as Robert Bruce Nye, a Libra with Gemini rising. His name translates to 'The wise man in the thicket of new'.

Schooled for 10 years by the Glendale Unified School district followed by 3 years of private education at The Lake Elsinore Military Academy and The Montclair College Preparatory Academy where he was awarded membership in the Society of Distinguished American High School Students and the National Honor Society.  His secondary education began at Occidental College with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree conferred in 1998.  He went on to graduate with an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from Iowa Western Community College.

He has accumulated over 25 years of experience as a Computer Science and Electronics Engineer in industries such as:

  • Medical tumor registry and CME DBMS
  • Telephone PABX
  • Biomedical equipment
  • Imaging systems
  • Aerospace NDT
  • CNC machine tools

He has pursued 25 years of self-education in Comparative Religion, Philosophy, Psychology and Sociology. He was conferred the title Magus by the Order of the Golden Dawn in 1979 for his work in the hermetic science. He currently volunteers as a lay Christian pastor and counselor to patients with long-term and terminal disease.

Mr. Nye is known for his iconoclastic approach to life.  A politically conservative long hair with a decidedly Pentecostal Christian faith based on Gnostic principles he nevertheless enjoys all manner of unexpected pleasures including:

  • Playing guitar (folk, rock and gospel), recorders (classical and neo-classical).
  • Shooting sports including handgun and long-range rifle marksmanship.
  • Attending all manner of performing arts including the Grand Opera, Ballet, Theater and the Symphony as well as more contemporary offerings.
  • Recreational reading includes science fiction, military and law enforcement novels, and medical thrillers.
  • Aviation, cycling and camping are his principal means of exercise.

Very happily married for 17 years to his first wife who died in 1999 of Multiple Sclerosis, he is now remarried and living life as a midwesterner in Papillion, NE where he works as a Registered Nurse specializing in surgical trauma and hospice care.
